Semi-protection needed
Can anybody semi-protect the article to prevent vandalism? — Preceding unsigned comment added by SpaceRacersFan14 (talk • contribs) 19:25, 15 December 2019 (UTC)
Changes
FilmandTVFan28 There seem to be constant changes to this article with material added without sources and material deleted without explanation. Can you help me figure out what should be there and what should not? I'm telling some of the editors to please used edit-summaries and reliable sources. --David Tornheim (talk) 10:21, 29 June 2020 (UTC)
- From what I can tell, the ones that should not be here are the ones that have not been confirmed to return to the block and the 24/7 Channel. — FilmandTVFan28 (talk) 12:31, 29 June 2020 (UTC)
- @FilmandTVFan28: It seems to me that something is going grossly wrong with this article. Consider Mr. Roger's Neighborhood. It was in this version from early in the year with sources and a correct date, then it was deleted, and now it has been restored without sources and with the wrong start date. --David Tornheim (talk) 22:49, 29 June 2020 (UTC)
@Mandarax: As an experienced editor who just contributed to the article, I am hoping you can take a look at this and the request for protection I made below. --David Tornheim (talk) 23:55, 29 June 2020 (UTC)
- I've made exactly one edit to the page: fixing a typo by moving an apostrophe. I know nothing about the subject or the edit history of the page. A request has already been submitted, and I'm not an admin, so there's nothing I can do. MANdARAX • XAЯAbИAM 02:31, 30 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Mandarax: Sorry if you felt I was dragging you into putting more effort into a page you have done little work on. All I was hoping for is a senior editor who recently edited the page -- for any reason -- to look at what is going on, since the edits are dominated by new editors with no experience making a lot of edits that do not seem to be improvements, that it is so bad, that I can't find a stable version to revert to.
- No problem if you don't have. I'm not that interested in the subject myself, but seeing how bad it is, I feel somewhat obligated to do my part to try to fix the problem. I was not suggesting you protect the page, only see if my argument for page protection seems sounds, since I have never filed a page protection request before.--David Tornheim (talk) 08:28, 30 June 2020 (UTC)
- Fortunately, the page protection request was approved: [1]. --David Tornheim (talk) 08:33, 30 June 2020 (UTC)
- @David Tornheim: There's a few other things wrong with the article in its current state, too:
- This states that because it was created to compete with Noggin, Sesame Street (which was part of Noggin's lineup back then) was not part of the original PBS Kids channel's lineup, yet the list of PBS Kids programs suggests that it was. What's up with that?
- April 14, 2003 was Boohbah's British premiere date, not its American premiere date; the show didn't air in the US until January 19, 2004 (while the list of programs broadcast on the PBS Kids block correctly reflects this, the list of programs broadcast on the channel does not, rendering the need to protect it with the wrong date intact completely pointless).

- @WaltWiz1901: You should be able to change it, as long as you are auto-confirmed. The protection is to keep the fly-by-night IP editors from randomly changing content. Please change. If you can't, please let me know, make an edit request and I or one of the other auto-confirmed editors can do it. --David Tornheim (talk) 04:51, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
- @WaltWiz1901: Ah. I see you are a new editor. In that case, please make specific edit requests and make sure your proposed change include WP:RS that backs up your claim. Keep in mind that Wikipedia is not WP:RS. So, Boohbah is not WP:RS, but it may contain WP:RS that is needed.
- If you want to help get this article back into shape, please help me find the best old version with the best WP:RS that back up the material. There are so many changes by new editors, it's hard to tell.
- If you can identify other lines that you believe are correct, are wrong, or were formerly correct, that would help too. --David Tornheim (talk) 05:01, 1 July 2020 (UTC)

New Shows
LionsOfPowerInTheSky Hello, I have been informed that there is a new show in the works called Taylor's Friendly World (which is set to premiere on April 19, 2021 on the PBS Kids channel). The show is funded by various supporting funding companies. The show combines elements of The Friendly Giant with elements of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood.

Move the Arthur listing in the "Current programming" section to the "Former programming" section, as it appears at https://www.ket.org/program/arthur/ that PBS (KET is a PBS station) is going to stop airing reruns of Arthur on PBS Kids on April 1, 2021, making the PBS Kids block on PBS the only way to watch Arthur on live TV. 2601:8B:C380:56A0:E112:5FE5:1903:9DD3 (talk) 22:29, 7 March 2021 (UTC)
- Not done. I don't see where in the source it explicitly says so. ◢ Ganbaruby! (Say hi!) 00:20, 8 March 2021 (UTC)

Semi-protection request
Can somebody semi-protect this article please? The constant back-and-forth edits and edit reversions by numerous different users is getting out of hand. 100.7.36.213 (talk) 18:11, 13 July 2022 (UTC)

- I decided to make my previous request more formal. I request that the Peanuts specials be moved to the Former programming section, since they will no longer air on PBS Kids.
