Past Shows
[edit]Stop removing them we need them in becuase on all TV program articles the past shows are always on the page Matthew Cantrell (talk) 21:22, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
- A number of those shows never appeared on WGN, despite the original poster continually putting them there. He/she has a history of putting false content on other entries, hence unless there is some sort of verifiable source that indicates that they actually DID appear on that channel, I would have to err on the side of removing the content. --Mhking (talk) 23:02, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
Someone is putting tons of shows that have not aired and also putting shows and adding (coming soon) when there is no indication that it is fact. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.216.113.118 (talk) 19:57, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
What evidence do we have that WGN America will be or was airing this sitcom it's never been in syndication except for when FOX Family purchased it in 2000 We need external links stop putting shows that do not have external links Matthew Cantrell (talk) 21:57, 1 March 2010 (UTC)

Requested move 23 June 2020
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: not moved. This RM seeks to reduce the scope of the lists. I find there is no consensus to do so. Since the scope of the list remains the same in the absence of a consensus to change it (WP:NOCON), and the proposed title would inaccurately describe the current scope of the list, the current titles should remain unless a consensus to reduce the list scope is established. - List of programs broadcast by WGN America → List of WGN America original programming
- List of programs broadcast by BBC America → List of BBC America original programming
- List of programs broadcast by Investigation Discovery → List of Investigation Discovery original programming
- List of programs broadcast by A&E → List of A&E original programming
– per Talk:List of HBO original programming#Requested move 13 June 2020. St3095 (?) 05:21, 23 June 2020 (UTC)—Relisting. 2pou (talk) 14:43, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
- Support per the linked RM. The title created is more specific and as such, makes the scope much more clear and the article much more encyclopedic. This change also aligns with the category Category:WGN America original programming. --Gonnym (talk) 07:52, 23 June 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose all unless there is specific consensus to modify the scope of each individual page, not in an multi-move RM like this. Specifically:
- Oppose renaming the WGN America page until there is consensus that the entire List of programs broadcast by WGN America § Syndicated series should be removed, as well as List of programs broadcast by WGN America § Newscasts and local programming from WGN-TV. WGN America has aired reruns of several programs that originally aired on WGN-TV locally in Chicago and the broadcast terrestrial networks, and therefore they are not "original".
- Oppose renaming the BBC America page unless there is consensus to remove both List of programs broadcast by BBC America § From BBC and List of programs broadcast by BBC America § Syndicated series. If we want to literally list only "original", that does not include programs that originally aired on the BBC back in the UK, or reruns of some of the several Star Trek series. And if all of that is removed, the page would be short enough to merge back into the BBC America article.
- Oppose renaming the Investigation Discovery page until there is consensus to remove List of programs broadcast by Investigation Discovery § Reruns, as it has re-aired shows originally broadcast on the broadcast terrestrial networks.
- Oppose renaming the A&E page, since it also has aired reruns of old programs, as listed on List of programs broadcast by A&E § Syndicated programming
- Bottom line is that the situation with these channels is different than the ones listed on the 13 June 2020 RM discussion. A significant part of their programming has been to air acquired, non-original shows, especially reruns of older shows. BBC America and WGN America were especially built to air selected programs that were originally shown on the BBC and WGN-TV, respectively. And therefore, I oppose changing the scope of these pages and removing these sections on those articles. Zzyzx11 (talk) 10:26, 23 June 2020 (UTC)
