Professional?
[edit]Are all the groups listed here really professional groups? Oddjob se 21:28, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
- Define "professional", please!
- Even though english is not my native language, in my opinion professional means that you do something for a living. I would characterize most of the groups listed here as amateurs... --Oddjob se 09:29, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
- See Professional. (Just kidding!) The intended meaning of professional in this usage is that the quality of performance is of the highest standard, the product of disciplined practice. The opposite of this sense of professional is unprofessional, not amateur. I'm not sure I would have chosen to use the term myself, but I have to agree that it's appropriate.LeadSongDog 02:23, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
Inclusion criterion
[edit]Anyone considering adding a group to this list should keep in mind the following from the Wikipedia:Lists (stand-alone lists) guideline:
"Each entry on a list should have its own non-redirect article in English Wikipedia, but this is not required if the entry is verifiably a member of the listed group, and it is reasonable to expect an article could be forthcoming in the future."
To test the reasonableness of your expectations, you may want to create the article on the group first and then add it to this list. UnitedStatesian (talk) 17:51, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
