"Date of Death/Left Office"—often inaccurate header

[edit]

"Date of Death/Left Office" is an inaccurate heading; on the day George VI died several prime ministers neither died nor resigned, they simply carried on serving.—indopug (talk) 16:22, 21 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Inconsistency re start of office dates

[edit]

Some Prime Ministers in office at the time George VI became King have their start of office listed as the day he became King, but others have the time they started as Prime Minister (Usually during the reign of his father). I think this needs to be fixed, and personally favour the latter approach. Dunarc (talk) 23:00, 16 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

King George VI as King of Ireland

[edit]

His reign as King of Ireland actually ended on 18 April 1949 when the Republic of Ireland Act 1948 came into effect, not in 1937, which is when the Constitution of Ireland replaced the Constitution of the Irish Free State, and the name 'Irish Free State' was replaced by 'Ireland'. - (2404:440C:2A56:B700:B437:6159:2C73:D614 (talk) 00:42, 21 August 2023 (UTC))[reply]
