[edit]The fact that this list is based on 1991 census makes it fairly unusable, and worse still, a good source for error propagation (per Murphy's law). Namely, after the war and Dayton Agreement, the IEBL has cut quite a few municipalities in half, splitting them to two entities. The universal solution was to make new ones from the rump, so we have Doboj East, Vukosavlje and a number of others. If we base these articles on this list, we will have (and still do [1]) a lot of places ending up in a wrong entity, let alone a wrong municipality. I thank Ser Amantio and Starzynka for good intentions for creating those articles, but as we say, "the road to hell is paved with good intentions". We'd better have no information than false information, in my opinion. This list should be updated to modern municipalities before we proceed with article creation. I assumed that nothing had changed since 1991. Please update it. I will not create any more Bosnia stubs until updated. I wish you had spoke earlier.Starzynka (talk) 14:37, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
- Question: do I understand correctly that the villages themselves still exist, and they've only been moved from one municipality to another? If that's the case, once it's sorted out it should be a small matter to fix the articles; I can do it fairly quickly with AWB, I should think. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 14:43, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, the villages still exist (well, unless totally devastated by war, but that's a rare case, and even such are still there as a statistical category, since there was no new census). The list of split municipalities is at the IEBL article, but I don't know which village ended up where. I wish I saw the error earlier, but it was only two "errors" at Velika Brijesnica that made me check what is going on. In any case, we should stop creating new stubs at least for the divided municipalities.
- There seems to exist a full list at http://bih-x.info/regije-i-gradovi/gradovi-bih/; at a casual check, the village lists seems to be in the linked sub-articles. Still, a lot of work to do... No such user (talk) 15:06, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
Mis-merged villages
[edit]There is a number of villages which ended up merged, because of copy/paste. If you take a look at the lists in this article, quite a few of them ends up with an "i" conjunction, meaning "and", such as Zavalje i Zlopoljac or Vojskova i Vrioci. However, those are actually two distinct villages: the list creator apparently pasted it from the source, which had the list in a running text. As result, we have a number of inadvertently merged villages.
The situation should be resolved, either by speedying ({{db-r3}}?) the articles and recreating them from scratch, or by splitting; the latter would, however, create implausible redirects. Suggestions? No such user (talk) 07:57, 24 August 2010 (UTC)

- The articles are now split, and above redirects can be safely deleted per {{csd-r3}}. No such user (talk) 09:13, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
