Format
[edit]Is there someone with knowledge on how to do tables that can tackle this one and format it better?--Kalsermar 19:45, 12 November 2005 (UTC)
- Looks like someone has already done this, and added in sortable columns - great! However, the sort function has a feature whereby column headers can no longer link to Wikipedia articles. Shame. -- Zexpe 19:20, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Southern Owl Nebula
[edit]Does the Southern Owl Nebula warrant an article, or is it just a copykat of the Owl Nebula?

- Probably not worth an article, unless you know something about it that I don't. You could put it in the list though, maybe even create a redirect so people will find it. Planetary nebulae are very photogenic though. Lithopsian (talk) 18:05, 5 August 2015 (UTC)

Catalogues and Designation Codes of Planetary Nebulae
[edit]The big question: 'How many catalogues of Planetary Nebulae are there really?' (or rather: 'How many astronomical catalogues are there since the very first ones (such as Messier's) were compiled') (especially those of deep-sky objects). But first of all I want to see something online which shows an alphabetic arrangement of (what I call) "sub-catalogues" of planetary nebulae, other than the general Perek-Kohoutek Catalogue. I created an alphabetic list of catalogues at the bottom of the page -List of Planetary Nebulae-, but, of course, this is not the right place (or...???). Anyway, the source which ignited my own experimental ABC is: https://www.hs.uni-hamburg.de/DE/Ins/Per/Kohoutek/kohoutek/WEBcgpn2/table7-DEF/index.html Danny Caes, Ghent-Belgium (explorer of astronomical catalogues and nicknames of deep-sky objects). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:1812:151F:5500:6DB0:E10C:2CAE:9FF2 (talk) 07:35, 8 April 2019 (UTC)
- Possibly List of astronomical catalogues. Not specific to planetary nebulae or even nebulae, but a list of catalogues and their acronyms. Then maybe a paragraph (of words in sentences!) about it either here or at the planetary nebula page? Those catalogues that are in common use can be mentioned specifically, especially if their acronyms show up in this list. The alternative names column could be populated with the most common catalogue entries. Lithopsian (talk) 13:39, 8 April 2019 (UTC)
Some nebula are missing from this list
[edit]The nebula that is missing is NGC 281 Julianstout (talk) 22:09, 28 September 2019 (UTC)
- That's because NGC 281 is an Emission nebula, not a Planetary nebula. {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 90.193.130.191 (talk) 12:06, 19 February 2022 (UTC)
