Hitler
[edit]Hitler was never definitively diagnosed
- There is some material on film which is quite definite, see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0w3nsAaOpq4. And it's mentioned in literature. He was, in fact, diagnosed by his doctor Morell! --Maxl (talk) 08:53, 17 September 2014 (UTC)
References and external links
[edit]Removed Find a Grave as a reference and placed under external links. Find a Grave as a reference fails;
- 1)-WP:SOURCES; Articles should be based on reliable, third-party, published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy.
- 2)- WP:NOTRELIABLE; Questionable sources are those with a poor reputation for checking the facts, or with no editorial oversight.
- 3)- WP:SELFPUBLISH; Find a Grave is user edited and uses anonymous or pseudonymous editors.
- 4)- WP:SPS; This includes any website whose content is largely user-generated, including the Internet Movie Database, Cracked.com, CBDB.com, and so forth, with the exception of material on such sites that is labeled as originating from credentialed members of the sites' editorial staff, rather than users. Find a Grave is not currently specifically named as is IMBd but falls under "and so forth". Rational dictates that Find a Grave, while not listed by name in WP:SPS, certainly falls under the criteria.
- For rationale and consensus (aside from the policies and guidelines listed) please read WP:Find-A-Grave famous people#When creating articles which states, Remember that all articles must satisfy Wikipedia core policies of notability (WP:NOTABILITY), verifiability (WP:VERIFIABILITY) and reliable sources (WP:RELIABLE SOURCES). Find-A-Grave is not considered a reliable source., and further, For any articles you create because of this project, you can add the entry's Find-A-Grave link to the External links sections of the article.. While this deals with articles being created it also certainly applies to any articles already created. Otr500 (talk) 00:59, 8 March 2011 (UTC)
As to your remarks:
- 1): Definitely correct
- 2): Who decides what's reliable and what isn't?
- 3): All web sites are user edited, including the Wikipedia. Who else should be expected to edit web sites but users? Web site editing has, luckily, not yet been automated if that's what you mean.
- 4): see 3 - once again, who decides what's "unreliable" and what is not? It seems to go quite at random or by personal likes or dislikes of web sites.
Anyway, with all your links your post looks a bit as if you're just trying to show off your alleged knowledge. I doubt that your many links are of much use to this article --Maxl (talk) 08:59, 17 September 2014 (UTC)
Dead people
[edit]Can I ask, for the sake of clarity, if the dead list is just people who died of Parkinson's, or includes those who died with, but not of, it? If the latter, should the list make clear whether or not it was the cause of death? And Introducing... A Leg (talk) 20:08, 25 February 2013 (UTC)
Michael J. Fox...
[edit]I wonder why Michael J. Fox, who is, arguably, one of the most prominent people afflicted with the disease remains unmentioned in the list. And wasn't Katharine Hepburn also diagnosed with Parkinsons? --Maxl (talk) 09:02, 17 September 2014 (UTC)
