Wood Hill

[edit]

Any ideas about this? The Wood Hill link is to a dab page which doesn't mention a hill; the grid ref is to a point north of Masham about 140m. I can't find any trace of the existence of this hill - and the list isn't sourced. PamD 13:14, 3 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

PamD - after double-checking the 1:50,000 and looking around for other evidence, I came to the conclusion that someone dreamed it. I've removed it. Langcliffe (talk) 08:23, 4 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! PamD 08:32, 4 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Langcliffe@ On the other hand I've now found it listed here: http://www.hill-bagging.co.uk/mountaindetails.php?qu=S&rf=16472 - though the map doesn't name it. Outside the National Park: is it within the remit of this list or not, I wonder?! PamD 13:27, 6 September 2016 (UTC) @Langcliffe: I don't think the previous attempt worked. PamD Well, according to the that database it has a 38 m drop - 8 more than the article says is needed, and it does fall within the Yorkshire Dales, again as defined by the article, but it doesn't look like a hill to me and the fact that it doesn't have a name worthy of the 1:25,000 map indicates that it's a non-feature. By all means revert my edit - it's not something I'm going to get excited about! --Langcliffe (talk) 14:26, 6 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
