Talk:List of organ scholars at British universities and colleges
This article was nominated for deletion on 21 March 2009 (UTC). The result of the discussion was merge to Organ scholar. |
Notability
[edit]This article fails to illustrate the notability of a large number of alumni included in various sections. I've tagged the article as an example farm since it seems it's been compiled indiscriminately. In addition, a large number of college articles have now been altered with a link to this article, but those links have been included in some cases in the wrong place, and in all cases in the wrong format. The {{seealso}} template should be used. User:Andrewrabbott - since you made those edits, could you fix them? ColdmachineTalk 08:56, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
Redirect reverted
[edit]Now that the notable names have been merged, as per consensus at the deletion discussion, to Organ scholar, what is the point of including a long list of names of people who don't have and will never have articles about them when there are scarcely any references to verify that X was a scholar at Y institution in year Z? BencherliteTalk 18:22, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
- I agree; I was the one who proposed this for deletion initially, and would be happy supporting a second attempt at AfD if you wished to nomimate now that the merge result from the last debate has been completed. ColdmachineTalk 18:37, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
- Probably can't be AfD'd as the page history is needed for GFDL purposes, but if there is sufficient consensus to do so, the list should again be redirected to Organ scholar, perhaps protecting the redirect as well. The only additional purpose this page serves now is to give an unreferenced and incomplete (after all, I'm not on it!) list of non-notable people who are, were or might yet be organ scholars - in other words, it's useless. - I agree with removing and preventing recreation of this one way or another. Sticky Parkin 20:58, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
