List
[edit]This is mostly a list, should we reboot it as List of music video directors? -- stillnotelf has a talk page 23:57, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
- Good idea. Peter S. 10:55, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
Many edits
[edit]Guy who keeps adding lots of directors here, please read this: Hi, thanks for your extensive list of video directors. I think that your additions are not really all that "notable" - many of them don't even have an entry in the music video database. And all of them don't have a wikipedia article. Do you really think these names should be added to a list of "notable directors"? Could you also please get a wikipedia name so that it is easier to reach you? thanks! :-) Peter S. 02:06, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
- I agree: There shouldn't be anyone on this list who isn't notable enough to have their own Wikipeida article. --Satori Son 15:07, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you for your support. Since somebody deleted the warning prematurly and the additions-guy added his stuff back a few hours later, I resetted everything now and prolonged the expiration date of the notice to 2006-7-10 so that we can be pretty sure that this guy actually reads the notice sometime (I hope). - (cross-posted from User talk:Peter S.) Hello! I commented out the warning to comply with Wikipedia's Manual of Style and to avoid self-references. I don't think that it's necessary to have the warning displayed to everybody who reads the article, because it's only for editors. And I think that if that problem user still refuses to discuss his changes, you should open an RfC. — getcrunk what?! 12:21, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
- (cross-posted from User_talk:Getcrunk)'Thanks for your answer :-) I can't do a RFC because I can't talk to the person in the first place: He has no wikipedia nickname, has a quick-changing IP (can't reach him on his talk-pages), doesn't read page comments and doesn't know the rules (doesn't read article talk pages etc.). I don't think he's a vandal, we just need to bring him on the right path, which is by talking to him which is the very thing I tried to accomplish by writing this message on the article page. Have you got a different idea how I can reach out and talk to this guy? I think posting this message in plain view until we have first contacted him is the best (yet unconventional) way. - I'd suggest, if you want to get his attention, leave it as a comment in the article. That way he'll easily see it when he tries to change the page, while it doesn't disturb the MoS that we're trying to uphold by creating text within the viewable article.
