US Army ships? and others missing?

[edit]
What about this one, apparently number 926, at the Chinese Navy Museum in 2005. And what about similar one numbered 1008?

Are museum ships of the US Army not to be covered? The lede says this is US Navy and US Coast Guard only, apparently? What about ships of the US Army Corps of Engineers? I believe that 6 or more ships in List of museum ships (only some of which are within its "in the United States" sublist) served in the US Army, just saying... --Doncram (talk, contribs) 09:50, 24 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I (still) believe that any/all ships that were US military (Army included) should be listed here. That would include moving all military ships (including ships such as Liberty ships, etc.) from the List of museum ships in North America over to here. (JMHO) - wolf 00:38, 25 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This military list includes at least some Liberty ships such as SS Lane Victory and SS Jeremiah O'Brien.
However this list is missing other obviously military ships listed over there, such as "PCF-104" a patrol boat in Coronado California and PCF-816 in Maritime Museum of San Diego. I notice those as I am cross-checking inclusion in the other direction, i.e. whether this list includes any which should be over there. Through California so far, I found that this list had one, USS Potomac presidential yacht, which was missing over there, and I added it. I think more are missing over here, which should be here. --Doncram (talk, contribs) 05:04, 31 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Congress of the Confederation ships?

[edit]

By "US Army", before, I meant the one that was created by the Congress of the Confederation in 1784. For that matter, what about ships that once served Confederate States Congress? The lede should be explicit. --Doncram (talk, contribs) 10:01, 24 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Anything to do with ships and the Confederacy is a rabbit hole you might want to avoid right now, but that said, if you still think something should be addressed... just use your best judgement. Good luck - wolf 00:38, 25 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

USS Barry

[edit]

I called the Navy Museum to see about visiting the Barry, and they said it had been taken out of museum use about eight years ago and sent to a shipyard. I don’t know of any sources we could cite for this, though. 2600:1003:B037:330F:15DE:A183:D159:27BB (talk) 16:12, 10 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
