Why this article was created
[edit]I created this article to be the sister article and television series version of List of most expensive films. I only added the 10 most expensive television series by cost per episode to jumpstart this article, feel free to add entries to the pre-existing list or add lists using different metrics to measure the most expensive television series (such as a list by cost per season, cost per entire production, and versions of the lists adjusted for inflation). I probably won't continue to edit this article after today as I'm only here to kickstart progress on this article. Please do not mark this article for deletion; if you think the article is lackluster, add to it instead of marking it for deletion. If you have any questions leave a message on my talk page. – Treetoes023 (talk) 00:24, 22 June 2023 (UTC)
Needs review, should be considered a stub
[edit]This is a draft at best, the article being so limited in scope without being obviously marked as such is tantamount to misinformation and not up to Wikipedia's standards. 110.146.236.147 (talk) 15:35, 27 April 2024 (UTC)
- I agree that review is needed here. My key concerns are an inconsistency with the methodology used, and the reliability of the sources. To use the example of the top item, "The Rings Of Power", the single source (a foxbusiness.com article) uses terms like "reportedly invested", "estimated" and "projected". Furthermore, it says Amazon has invested $465m into the first season, that each episode of season one costs around $58m, and that all five seasons are projected to cost around $1b. To square those numbers, that would mean subsequent seasons should cost closer to $15m-$20m per episode.
- Given that this article is likely to be regularly referenced as a source for claims on this topic, I agree that the lack of robustness is cause for concern, and it is a potential source of misinformation. Genedecanter (talk) 21:59, 30 August 2024 (UTC)
Scifi section
[edit]There are 4 science fiction shows on the "cost per episode" list all significantly more expensive than the per episode costs of the shows on the "scifi" list. I suggest the scifi list be deleted. 2600:1008:B093:5B3B:0:E:BAE4:2B01 (talk) 17:21, 24 July 2024 (UTC)
