Luxembourg, not Luxemburg in english
[edit]I had to change the spelling in most entries to that effect. Also unsure about Henry V's claim to Namur, occupying the county does not make him count. Though it is true that that is how his father and mother came to the titles of Luxembourg (after Henry IV back to the Empire), Durbuy and Laroche (after Henry IV to Hainaut (with Namur)), but that was through ratification by the emperor. But I won't modify this as long as I'm not certain of my position.--Caranorn 12:44, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
links in section headings
[edit]As I already tried to explain in my edit summaries, there should be no links in the headings and titles. I removed them once again and put them (except for the red House of Limburg into the See also section for now. A better option would be to have a main article link just bellow the individual titles, or alternatively a short introduction to the dynasty in question with the link.--Caranorn 13:22, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
- Here is the correct link: Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style#Wording. These are guidelines, not policy, so they leave some leeway.--Caranorn 13:29, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks. I have no strong opinion this way or that way, though I prefer the previous state to the inclusion in the "see also" section (this bloats the section and also detaches the links from their context). Maybe we can go by the "main article" format.
- Another issue I am interested in is the inclusion of information about the relationship of the various rulers. My last edits have established a maximum of information, though I do not think that all this is needed. What do you think? Str1977 (smile back) 13:34, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
- I think it should only be included if the succession is not in direct line (father/mother to son/daughter). That is, essentially only include the exceptions. I'd also prefer the main article approach, I just don't have the correct format at hand right away, which is why I just added the links to the See also section temporarily (as I agree they belong in the article).--Caranorn 13:54, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
- I just looked through the article, all except the Burgundians (Valois) currently seem to have the info on relationship to the previous ruler, so maybe it should stay after all.--Caranorn 14:01, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

Timeline
[edit]Can someone make a timeline similar to the List of English monarchs streching from the present day back to the first Count of Luxembourg, by extending the current timeline on the bottom of this article.--Queen Elizabeth II's Little Spy (talk) 00:44, 8 May 2010 (UTC)
