Hi Bacheh! good to hear from you after long time. I'll try to add them to the list but will require some more info about them.--Sayed Mohammad Faiz Haidertcs 01:50, 21 September 2010 (UTC)

good job keep up the work we need to make this active again maybe starting a new page with ulema on it or something —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.100.192.191 (talk) 13:52, 22 September 2010 (UTC)

Hi guys, His correct name is Sayyid Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi. He was the head of the Judicial System of Iran for 10 years, so he has a complete page in Wikipedia. I corrected his name in the List of Current Maraji, and therefore connect the name to his page. Koroosh —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.241.143.168 (talk) 10:22, 24 September 2010 (UTC)

Thanks Koroosh! Good to see you after so long time. :) --Sayed Mohammad Faiz Haidertcs 11:00, 24 September 2010 (UTC)

ok brothers, if korosh could add this guy sheikh ali saleh who is a kuwaiti "marja" he seems legit becuase he has ejazeh for taqlid from three other marajis on his website but he seems alot like alot of these other half-marjas who dont have much popularity or support and are propped up in order to weaken wilayat-faqi theory (which is becoming popular by some arab govts) but lets put him up for the benefit of the doubt http://www.marafi-mosque.com/marafi-mosque/alsfht_alryysyt.html you can find pictures of proofs of his marjayat on site —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bachehjonoob (talkcontribs) 22:14, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

Doubt about two new Maraji

Hi Mr. Faizhaider,

I checked the information regarding two new Maraji, who currently added to the list.

The first one is no.35 "Sayyid Ali Al-Hussaini Al-Milani". If you check his website there is nothing inside that, which shows he is a Marja. No title, no statement, no Resaleh, etc. He is defenitely a normal Ayatollah and not a Marja. The point that an Ayatollah has a personal website, does not show that he is a Marja!

The second one is no.48 "Ali Al-Saleh". I could not find any document or list on the net, that introduces him as a Marja? Why he is added to the current list of Maraji in Wikipedia!?

Could you please check the information of these two Ayatollah. If you agree with me, we can remove their name from the List.

(Written by Koroosh) 129.241.143.190 (talk) 10:29, 6 April 2011 (UTC)

ok salam and glad to see you back,
i added both because first of all al-milani father was one of the greatest marjas and this makes one think he will follow the same path. NOW if you go to his website and read some of the comments of his followers some of them claim that he is a marja....I don't know what you think this but usually when people begin to accept a person as a marji that is enough as long as they are also accepted by the ahl-khubra
second
al-saleh has openly claimed he is a marja on youtube just do a check under his name in youtube there is an interview with him and he has 3 letters from yousef sanai, rastegari and sadiq rowhani saying hes a mujtahed on his website
although, I can understand why you would agree with the first on being wrong but i put him based solely on the evidence I saw, while the second one is with actual evidence and claims
lastly, there is a lot of people now claiming marjayat lots of fake people even one in now in detroit michigan (LOL) who I didn't even bother putting on the list because the person a clown and a joke and has no knowledge and absolutely no one saying his marjayat is real. He even said in his website he doesn't need a letter from maraji to say hes a mujtahed let alone a marja.
So basically what I am saying is I'm just putting people based on the knowledge I have and I could be wrong but I will not put fake people like that moaid guy in jordan or that guy from michigan american becuase theyr just ludicrous but at the same time i will give credit to those who deserve it(any one within the known islamic qom and najaf pools).
So as far as I know both of these new personalities are seemingly withing the frame of qom najaf scholars and are well known while a lot of these fake new marjas popping up all seem to have no credibility among the real scholars and all suspiciously seem to be in line of american foreign policy (against wilayat faqi). So we should be diligent in not giving them any credit and giving credit to the people that deserve it and remain in line with respecting the scholars of islam and rejecting outside influences that are pushing for change in maraji system to benefit them such as america and arab countries who are trying to make new pro-arabist or pro-american anti-iran or anti-political maraji to divide us. Especially by targetting wilayat faqi and iran and hizbollah. Bachehjonoob (talk) 05:41, 11 April 2011 (UTC)
salam again,
another person very well know for his tv shows on alkawthar tv has become a marja i will be adding him soo check the website it even says "smahat almarja aldini"....

im not going to add him if someone else wants to they can
Bachehjonoob (talk) 00:49, 25 April 2011 (UTC)

Salam Kooroosh & Bacheh!
I suppose we have an agreement on the artilce about conditions of inclusion (i.e. The list contains those Ayatollahs who have published a resalah, regardless of the number of followers they have) into list and they are pretty clear and must be followed. Periodic revision of list is required to weed out names of individuals who don't meet the inclusion conditions. I'll try to do revision soon. (I was under sort of hibernation, during last two months I have less than 25 edits, can you beliweve this? ;). meanwhile if anybody feels to correct any entry they are free to do so.
If anybody feels that we may change condition of inclusion then we can open a discussion for that.

someone please add kamal haydari and shaikh issa al-assem to the list, his website is www.albayan.org ~~ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bachehjonoob (talkcontribs) 03:46, 16 July 2011 (UTC)

        • the third marja on the list has died here is evidence so i remove dhim and put him on the deceased section

http://www.imshiaa.com/vb/showthread.php?t=123537 I also added heydari and qassem since heydari calls himself a marja and AL-ALAM website has refered to qassem as al-marja al-dini also I have fixed up some of the websites that were bad links Bachehjonoob (talk) 22:16, 29 July 2011 (UTC)

Two suggestions!

I have two suggestion for improving the article.

1. Because of the large number of Maraji include in the List of current Maraji, It is so confusing when check the names. Moreover, it is not easy to find the more famous Maraji in the list. I have two ideas for solving the problem.

- First is the same as Arabic wikipedia, and divide the list into couple of separate lists based on the country that the Maraji live right now. For instance, one list for the Maraji live in Iran, one for the ones live in Iraq, etc.

- Second is ordering the names of Maraji based on their date of birth and not alphabetically! By this way, the more famous ones will be put in the top of the list, and the younger and usually less famous ones in the bottom of the list. This is the way that in used in Persian wikipedia version.

If you agree, I can edit the article and apply one or both of the ideas in the article.

2. I think it will be much more convenient to remove one of the articles: Lists of Maraji and List of current Maraji, or in fact merge them into a single article. The are couple of reasons, that I suggest this way.

- By doing this the article in English wikipedia will be in the same way as the articles in the other languages in wikipedia. But because we have a longer list of deceased Maraji compared to the wikipedia article in other languages and it is not possible to put both in the same article, we can do something the same as the thing that I did and you revert it.

- Usually the thing that is interesting for the readers is the list of current Maraji and not the deceased ones! So by putting the names of current one in the main article, we bold the current ones and make it easier for the readers to go through the content of article. And for the ones that are interested in the list of deceased ones, a link like below will be in the top of article and is easy to go for deceased ones.

- The article List of current Maraji now is not connected to any same wikipedia articles in the other languages! But if we move the contents of that to Lists of Maraji, the article will be directly connected to the other languages.

Please give your idea about this suggestion as well.

@Koorosh1234: If you are same as User:Koroosh1986, I think you were part of few of the archived discussion, if not I hope before you wrote above suggestions you have read archived discussion in which editors had decided current order formula, if it is neither of two I'll suggest you read the archived threads where time and again editors have discussed how to order the lists and finally have agreed on present formula. Also, I'm pretty busy in my real life mostly owing to Muharram especially during these first twelve days, so, may not be able to respond very promptly, please be patient with my slow responses. Thanks.--Sayed Mohammad Faiz Haidertcs 18:13, 30 October 2014 (UTC)

Sheikh Hussein Muayed is not a Shia marja

For anyone who wants to add الشيخ حسن المؤيد to this list of Maraji, it needs to be reverted. As @Tubi719: mentioned, he is not a marja: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?diff=857123619&oldid=857120048&title=List_of_current_Maraji due to the info here: https://www.yahosein.com/vb/showthread.php?t=194993 I also did research on الشيخ حسن المؤيد and this came up: http://www.jamnews.com/detail/News/345062 CryMeAnOcean (talk) 21:41, 29 August 2018 (UTC)

Template Suggestions

I have two suggestions for the templates. While I appreciate the work and contributions of the editors who took part in creating List of current Maraji and List of deceased Maraji, I feel as though the consensus needs to change regarding the template.

I have already changed the naming (It was extremely confusing for editors and proved to be very messy. The deceased page was the messiest, with confusion arising with "nicknames"). I have also changed the order from age, which is more suitable.

I have three more final proposals, 1) Removing the year 'AH'. While yes, it can be important, I just feel it isn't necessarily needed. The years in CE I think are sufficient. 2) Removing "Website" and transferring the Official Websites into the notes. 3) Removing Education. This is really irrelevant in my opinion. It is repetitive, as Iran and Iraq are mainly the only places to pursue Darse Kharej to grant Ijtihad, it is just constantly Iran & Iraq. I propose removing, leaving the place of birth, and residence instead.

Any objections? Would gladly appreciate anyone else's response. Ali313korosh (talk) 02:03, 2 March 2022 (UTC)

Since nobody has objected to this proposal, I will go ahead and continue with the edit. I will do the same in List of deceased Maraji to maintain clarity and coherency. Ali313korosh (talk) 23:12, 17 June 2022 (UTC)

language purism

If marja-i taqlid is italicized, it may as well be given the plural in the source language, which I suspect is not marja-i taqlids. —Tamfang (talk) 04:41, 4 November 2023 (UTC)
