In need of improvement
[edit]This article could be much improved. As it stands there is perhaps too much information on the taxonomy of each animal. If each animal has a link back to their own page on wikipedia which contains the taxonomy information, then there is little need for that same information to be repeated on this page.
I think that in accorance with standard wikipedia practice, priority should be given to the common name. The official binomial (latin) name can then be mentioned, perhaps in a bracket.
The article should give a brief history of each animal in hong kong, answering questions such as how wide-spread they are. Where they can be found. Were the animal introduced by people.
Animals such as the tiger which only now exist in the zoos should not be included in the main part. Perhaps we could have a paragraph at the end for the recently (locally) extinct animals. Pma jones (talk) 06:52, 3 March 2010 (UTC)
