It appears the Postal Police are not listed. Should they be added? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.161.110.52 (talk) 16:39, 24 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry - am unable to log in, but Amtrak has a police force which I believe, through some type of MOU, has jurisdiction in the surrounding areas of Capitol Hill. 66.78.218.2 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 20:20, 15 September 2010 (UTC).[reply]

CSX Police

[edit]

Considering the fact that the CSX RF&P Subdivision passes through the District, would it make sense to include the CSX Police Department? It's not entirely clear to me if they DO have jurisdiction in the District. Quoting 49 USC § 28101:

Under regulations prescribed by the Secretary of Transportation, a rail police officer who is directly employed by or contracted by a rail carrier and certified or commissioned as a police officer under the laws of a State may enforce the laws of any jurisdiction in which the rail carrier owns property, to the extent of the authority of a police officer certified or commissioned under the laws of that jurisdiction

Washington, DC is clearly a "jurisdiction in which the rail carrier owns property", but the referenced regulations (which I presume to be 49 CFR § 207) only mentions states:

A railroad police officer who is designated by a railroad and commissioned under the laws of any state is authorized to enforce the laws (as specified in paragraph (b) of this section) of any state in which the railroad owns property and to which the railroad has provided notice in accordance with § 207.4.

Dang it, forgot to sign. 173.166.187.68 (talk) 12:37, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
