Marquis of Santa Cruz
[edit]The tenth Marquis of Santa Cruz was inducted in 1821, and the thirteenth in 1927. The Marquis of Santa Cruz inducted in 1877 must be the eleventh or twelfth; does anyone know which? J S Ayer (talk) 18:53, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
- I am not sure, but the datasource of the list say 11th, so I changed it from 1th to 11th. But there should be a verification if it is correct, by citations about the Person. --Diwas (talk) 03:46, 22 January 2010 (UTC)

In the list of Golden Fleece Knights, at 1664, I replaced Nicholas, count Zringski with Nicholas, count of Zrin. Zrínyi (Hungarian), Zrinski (Croatian) means of (the village and castle of) Zrin, today Croatia.

Joseph Bonaparte
[edit]Did he make any creations? The only award from his period is to the Duke of Wellington, who I assume received it from Ferdinand. I note that, on the other hand, appointments obviously by Amadeo I are included in the list. john k (talk) 14:47, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
- You mean King Joseph Bonaparte? I did found this information: http://www.antiquesatoz.com/sgfleece/bonapart.htm. Diodecimus (talk) 16:14, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
- We ought to list these gentlemen, perhaps in a separate section. john k (talk) 16:33, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
- Well... according to the source they were not considered to have been legally nominated. Was King Joseph Bonaparte allowed to create Knights of the Golden Fleece? Diodecimus (talk) 19:49, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
- He certainly thought he was. His right was certainly no worse than that of Amadeo I. At any rate, it's not up to us to judge. The dubiousness of his appointments can be highlighted by listing them in a separate section. I don't see a reason that they shouldn't be listed at all. john k (talk) 20:37, 9 September 2010 (UTC)

No new members in 1474
[edit]Johan Rengers ten Post, heer van Scharmer & Dijksterhuis and |Unico II, Baron Ripperda von Farmsum have never been members of the Order of the Golden Fleece. In 1474 the order didn't elect any new members. See the offical member list, written by the Order, printed in: "Liste nominale des chevaliers de l’ordre de la Toison d’or, depuis son instiution jusqu’à nos jours", in: "Das Haus Österreich und der Orden vom Goldenen Vlies". Ed. Chancellery of the Order of Golden Fleece. Leopold Stocker Verlag, Graz/Stuttgart 2007 (ISBN 978-3-7020-1172-7), S. 161-198. I think it's better to delet these two persons ! -- Fusil (talk) 19:43, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

Numbers Wrap
[edit]Example - "1, 185th Knight" - there's no need for the space after the comma that causes the numbers to wrap to the next line of text is there? There are other listed numbered knights that have a space between the comma and digits that seems odd (1,171 - 1,191) SquashEngineer (talk) 14:30, 29 September 2023 (UTC)
- @SquashEngineer: No. That looks like an error to me. 0DF (talk) 19:03, 29 September 2023 (UTC)
