[edit]The link to "Allan Harris" goes to a footballer, not a jazz singer.Arnold Rothstein1921 (talk) 21:40, 19 December 2012 (UTC)

Who IS a designated jazz vocalist?
[edit]As with every list of that kind, it tends to be crowded with questionable cases. I would remove at least: Ane Brun, George Duke (he would certainly be amused), Sidsel Endresen, Anja Garbarek, Astrud Gilberto, Katie Melua, Corinne Bailey Rae, Sade, Gil Scott-Heron, Carly Simon, Amy Winehouse, and even Lizz Wright (and about another quarter of the entries I don't know about). With each there are different arguments to make, but I doubt any of these vocalists would call themselves "jazz vocalists". To record an album with standards or to have begun with jazz tunes before getting to be known or to have studied jazz are no arguments to be called a jazz musician.
