What is going on with this section? Massive removals on the list of jangle pop
[edit]According to the article, the two prime examples from the US and the UK, REM and The Smiths, aren't even on the "list of jangle pop bands". Someone please revert these changes whomever is deleting all the bands off this page. Rook2pawn (talk) 08:35, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
- I know, it's absurd. Unfortunately it is now too late to undo those destructive edits. Msftwin95 (talk) 18:55, 26 June 2022 (UTC)
- The Smiths aren't really a jangle pop band. I think people are getting the genre jangle-pop (Georgia based, Byrds influenced bands of the 1980s) confused with "any band that used jangly guitars sometimes."
- Most of these bands here aren't even real Jangle pop bands, but have just done a single or album track here and there that someone described as "jangle pop" in sentence. Verlaine76 (talk) 12:57, 24 May 2024 (UTC)

Article improvement
[edit]I removed the prod tag because this list article meets the criteria at WP:LIST. To address the problem of incompleteness, the only thing that is needed is to add more entries, each one accompanied by a citation naming the band as jangle pop. At one point, jangle pop individuals were listed, too; these were removed because of the word "bands" in the title of the page. The page could be moved to List of jangle pop artists if individuals and duos are to be added. Binksternet (talk) 19:57, 26 June 2022 (UTC)
