@MisterCake: 2016 VA Tech media guide give us:

"Conference Championships" for (pg 13)

1909 6-1 "South Atlantic" Branch Bocock
1916 7-2 "South Atlantic" Jack Ingersoll
1918 7-0 "South Atlantic" Charles Bernie

And conference affiliation, including (pg 77):

1907-21: South Atlantic Intercollegiate Athletic Association – 1909, 1916, 1918 champions

This seems to be open to interpretation, "south Atlantic" vs "SAIAA." Based on the associated annual team results which lack a conference W-L breakout (pg 148), I'm now reading this as VA Tech being independent for these years -which would explicitly contradict pg 77. What do you think? Updates to the season articles, conf vs Ind standings templates, champions navboxes, and List of Virginia Tech Hokies football seasons are driving. I am fairly confident "south atlantic" rather than southern titles start with NC A&M in 1907, and the SAIAA starts in 1912, and the two are conflated. Cake (talk) 05:45, 8 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
