Gaps in the chronology

[edit]

The article currently states:

Marc Bazin (acting): June 19, 1992 - June 15, 1993
Jean-Bertrand Aristide: October 15, 1994 - February 1996
Émile Jonassaint (provisional): May 12 - October 12, 1994
Jean-Bertrand Aristide: October 12, 1994 - February 7, 1996

Note that Jonassaint's term is out of order, Aristide's 1994-96 term is listed twice with two different starting dates, and nobody is identified as having been president (even acting or provisional) from June 15, 1993 to May 12, 1994. --Metropolitan90 05:44, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Colors

[edit]

What do the colors in the table mean? Could someone please add a key explaining this? Tad Lincoln (talk) 03:16, 28 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yes very cliché at this point Tad Lincoln, but gold/revolutionary in-command leader, purple/emperors, blue/presidents for life, yellow/standard president; green/provisional, acting, interm etc. Savvyjack23 (talk) 20:37, 15 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This doesn't really correspond to this list though... Duvaliers are marked in black, and we also have orange and pink? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.153.254.50 (talk) 16:40, 18 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Number in line as "full" president of Haiti

[edit]

As of 15 February 2016, the following seems to reflect accuracy (therefore unremoved from respective articles) minus all interims, acting, provisional, military presidents etc., which should not count towards this number:

1. Alexandre Pétion
2. Jean-Pierre Boyer
3. Charles Rivière-Hérard
4. Philippe Guerrier
5. Jean-Louis Pierrot
6. Jean-Baptiste Riché
7. Faustin Soulouque
8. Fabre Geffrard
9. Sylvain Salnave
10. Nissage Saget
11. Michel Domingue
12. Pierre Théoma Boisrond-Canal
13. Lysius Salomon

Unfortunately after further review, we are going to have to assign certain acting presidents a number. The Haitian government is calling Jovenel Moïse the 58th president. So what we currently have is WP:OR. We can model the order we have on the French page (fr). The key phrase to abide by in all of this is head of state, regardless of officially elected or not, if considered/assigned a number, we must follow suit. The country throughout its history has had undemocratic elected positions and I suppose that their government understands that and counts them anyway. What can I say...? Savvyjack23 (talk) 05:24, 23 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
We are still to inline "acting", "interim" etc. Savvyjack23 (talk) 05:25, 23 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Jocelerme Privert

[edit]

His term already expired. Please add an entry for his successor and correct all sources currently referring to him as "incumbent." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:648:8300:E36:2598:B4B1:F8FE:604F (talk) 16:04, 21 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The Emperor Jones

[edit]

Eugene O'Neil based his play on the second president Sam. This must be mentioned, so I did. Arglebargle79 (talk) 14:23, 6 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

24 April

[edit]

Hi @Preime TH and Sundostund: the source said 24 April so we should keep 24 April. Le Moniteur (Haiti) is the official gazette. Panam2014 (talk) 19:56, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

OK, thank you for informing me, I will cooperate with you to edit the article well. Preime TH (talk) 23:58, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
