Salary per year?
[edit]Monthly or Annual salary? (For clarity sake.) CaribDigita (talk) 05:42, 27 December 2016 (UTC)
- Currently the list displays the yearly salaries but since most people get paid on a monthly basis it might be more appropriate to display the monthly figures. Stefán Örvar Sigmundsson (talk) 17:14, 27 December 2016 (UTC)
I do agree yes. Also most heads of state get paid on a monthly basis. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A01:E34:EC12:36C0:60E9:7B6A:5A55:A0B6 (talk) 22:23, 8 July 2020 (UTC)
Royal 'salaries'
[edit]Really not sure that the numbers for the UK are correct: I think these are the budgets of the Royal Estate which is not the same as the salary of the Queen. Possibly should be removed or clarified? --41.249.32.151 (talk) 14:58, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
- Good point, someone should look into that. Stefán Örvar Sigmundsson (talk) 17:48, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
The queen's royal allowance is estimated from 4 millions up to 80 millions of British Pounds. https://www.royal.uk/royal-finances-0 https://www.google.com/search?q=Queen+royal+allowance&source=lmns&bih=966&biw=1920&client=firefox-b-d&hl=fr&ved=2ahUKEwjpgLKx277qAhXWwoUKHSDQDrsQ_AUoAHoECAEQAA — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A01:E34:EC12:36C0:60E9:7B6A:5A55:A0B6 (talk) 22:35, 8 July 2020 (UTC)

Cleanup of table
[edit]This whole article needs to be cleaned up, for instance we can start off by removing from (IMF exchange rate) and stick to having the USD (to allow arranging in descending or ascending order, local country currency and the GDP per capita. Then when anyone update they update the whole row with reliable source and year and month of last update to make sure the article stays upto date. - DownTownRich (talk) 02:55, 31 March 2022 (UTC)
- I'm in the process of cleaning it up. The top few rows are what it should look like. The article previously only included dollars despite sources being in local currency. It was totally unverified because people were just putting in a dollar amount based on the exchange rate from an online converter when they updated the article. The text must match the sources, which means numbers in local currency, and a separate column for sorting on USD based on a fixed-year exchange rate that is updated in one go through the template
{{To USD round}}
. The most recent dataset in that template is 2019. Not giving sources for the exchange rate, and mixing exchange rate sources and dates causes the article to fail WP:V, and is why someone tagged it as having "inappropriate or misinterpreted citations that do not verify the text". ― Tartan357 Talk 03:07, 31 March 2022 (UTC)- How about utelizing Wikidata so that we can keep the history of salaries as they change from time to time and to easily track updates as it is done at Comparison of cross-platform instant messaging clients - DownTownRich (talk) 20:56, 26 May 2022 (UTC)
- Did a sample with Afghanistan under Head of Government. DownTownRich (talk) 21:53, 26 May 2022 (UTC)

UK head of state costs absent
[edit]United Kingdom head of state missing. The Sovereign Grant for 2022 approx 86.3 million GBP. 82.23.146.196 (talk) 12:49, 12 November 2022 (UTC)
Needs improvement
[edit]Often the conversion to US-Dollars is missing. Sometimes the salaries for the head of state and prime minister use different currencies. The values themselves should also be checked as some (i.e. Ukraine) appear to be wrong, possibly because a monthly instead of a yearly amount is stated in the table. --2001:871:22B:327:552:62CE:D92C:52A (talk) 17:15, 10 October 2024 (UTC)
