List of forts in United States
[edit]From the List of forts in the United States#Colorado (before I merged the list to this article page),
- Fort Big Spring - Finding a Fort Big Spring (1858-1870) / Big Spring stage station / Pugsley's Ranch on this map, showing it is north of Kit Carson, and a few other sources about either the fort or station, but nothing more. Nothing at all in newspapers.com. It is on maps, though, and has a zip code. Not sure what to do about this one.
- Fort Craig - I think there is confusion here. There is a Fort Craig in New Mexico... and the Colorado Volunteers went there. I am not seeing a Fort Craig in Colorado.
- Fort Crawford - It's on the Map of private and military forts in Colorado from 1807 to 1900. I'll research it.
- Fort Dominguez - From this, it was a fur trading post 20 miles north of Delta. One short book reference/snippet. Not finding anything to build an article.
- Fort Fisher - This is El Pueblo / Fort Pueblo, per page 50
- Fort Juana - This is El Pueblo / Fort Pueblo, per page 50
- Fort Meeker - The more common name for Cantonment on White River, adding to the table
- Fort Sanders - There was a Fort Sanders in Wyoming. I am not finding one in Colorado. On the disambig page for Fort Sanders, it says it's a trading post in Brighton, but I am not finding anything about that.
- Fort Schofield - This says that there was a military post at Hot Sulphur Springs in Grand County. No date. - I am not finding any information. Temporary camp??
- Fort Spaulding - This is El Pueblo / Fort Pueblo, per page 50
- Peebles Fort - This is Fort Leche / Milk Fort
- Robert Fisher's Fort - This is El Pueblo / Fort Pueblo, per page 50
- Sharps Trading Fort - Per this, it was a trading station on the Taos Trail. Nice Colorado Magazine article here says it's called Sharp's Trading Post, no mention that it was a fort. It's also called Buzzard's Roost Ranch. I think that there's an article here about Tom Sharp (or William Thomas Sharp, W.T. Sharp - need to check for most common usage)... and take see how much gets unearthed about the post / ranch / fort.
These were on the list. Does anyone have sources for information about them and where they were at?–CaroleHenson (talk) 03:20, 7 June 2018 (UTC)

In the meantime, I'll work on Tom Sharp (trader).–CaroleHenson (talk) 06:25, 13 June 2018 (UTC) Added link.–CaroleHenson (talk) 16:06, 13 June 2018 (UTC)
