Including Directors or not?

[edit]

Hi all,

There seems to be a precedent for including football administrators (such as Rous) but less clarity on whether Directors - such as Philip Carter, Steve Morgan, or John Smith (who was knighted for services to sport) should be. My own feeling is that if their honour was in relation to football, it should merit inclusion, but if not (such as Steve Morgan, who was honoured for services to the construction industry) then no. I doubt there's any actual style guide for this but wondered what the consensus was. Thanks. --OGBC1992 (talk) 10:33, 28 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I would say if the award was for football and their role is related to football, they should be included, unlike say, Karren Brady who is related to football, but was awarded by David Cameron for something else.--Egghead06 (talk) 11:30, 28 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Broadcasters

[edit]

Colin Slater has recently died - he was a football commentator on BBC Radio, and was awarded an MBE for services to the community. Worthy of inclusion in this article or not?--OGBC1992 (talk) 12:39, 11 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
