Basis for adding rock singers

Here is the basis for what should be considered when adding rock singers. This is not based on one persons opinion from a user on here. But should be the benchmark as to whether a person belongs. If the list doesn't load simply click the category ROCK http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=73:20 Swampfire (talk) 22:29, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=11:hvfexql0ldje (Amy Lee)

Amy Lee is already in the list of female metal singers, it is redundant to put her here. The Evanescence article has multiple citations stating that the band is indeed metal.Asarelah (talk) 04:24, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

The image Image:JanisJoplin60s.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

No articles

If a musician DOES NOT have an article, do not put them on the list. All names on the list without an article will be deleted! The same rule applies to bands too. Demoman87 (talk) 20:28, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

Rock singers?

There are many singers that I would not say are 'rock' singers. For example Sade, Amber, Björk, Cher and Dionne Warwick. I consider these more like pop singers. Björk's style is electronica & trip hop, and isn't Warwick some kind of soul or r&b singer? If Dionne Warwick is included then I would include also Whitney Houston. Then there is some like Michelle Branch, isn't she a country musician? I thought country is a genre of its own. 82.141.127.50 (talk) 19:31, 28 May 2011 (UTC)

Avril Lavigne?

Avril Lavigne should be in this list. She is more rock than Kelly Clarkson, Pink and Amy MacDonald for an example. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.78.66.107 (talk) 15:40, 22 August 2011 (UTC)

Paramore

I think Paramore can be deleted, because it´s a band with a female Lead Singer. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.78.110.74 (talk) 17:23, 23 August 2011 (UTC)

Pink?

Have tried repeatedly to add Pink, but cannot link to her page. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but would appreciate a little help. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lamasa (talkcontribs) 05:50, 9 October 2012 (UTC)

What's the consensus on adding female singers based on the existence of her band's article?

My inclination is always to restrict to people with articles about themselves rather than their band, but checking here to see if a consensus has formed either way. E.g. Alejandra Deheza (School of Seven Bells). --— Rhododendrites talk \\ 17:54, 16 December 2014 (UTC)

Based on no response combined with the standards set by WP:LISTPEOPLE, I'm going to go ahead and remove those who are not notable for enough for their own article. — Rhododendrites talk \\ 03:51, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
