Ship classes
[edit]The CCG does not use "class" they use type as in the function of the ship. The "class" is a series of ships built to similar requirements. The CCG does not distinguish by this, but reliable secondary sources, i.e Wikipedia:Reliable sources, says that these ships are a "class". This page is not the CCG's page. This page is not associated with the Government of Canada. Llammakey (talk) 13:31, 20 May 2023 (UTC)
- The CCG does use class as stated in their naming policy on the internet https://www.ccg-gcc.gc.ca/publications/fleet-flotte/vessel-naming-noms-des-navires/part1-eng.html . Naming the vessels in a class with the first vessel in the class being the name of the class eis total false information. If that what Wikipedia is going to put forth to the public it is totally wrong. I have read may history books about the CCG and they did youse a type structure in the past utilizing Type 100 to 1300. Any source you are using to come up with fictional class names should not be relied on when CCG has a clear class type named in its published documentation. The statement that the page is not associated with CCG is false as most of the info and images are directly from the CCG. Thread1972 (talk) 18:44, 30 October 2024 (UTC)
