Why reverted my change

[edit]

I do a change, i agree so much information about the chile's earthquakes, why reverted that. The change include: Chile is considered the world's most seismically active country due to its location on the Ring of Fire. Much of the mainland lying along the Subduction zone of the Nazca Plate beneath the South American plate -at the Isthmus of Ofqui (Aysén Region), however, subduction is produced by the Antarctic plate, which moves slower than that of Nazca and therefore is less seismically activated. On Easter Island, or Rapa Nui, the seismicity is also important because plaque formation smaller plate called Easter and Juan Fernandez plate -the latter is located at the triple junction between the plates of the Pacific and Nazca; Juan Fernández archipelago is not on the plate Juan Fernandez. Other tectonic plates in the Chilean territory are Altiplano plate, the Chiloe and Scotia. Throughout history, many earthquakes have affected Chile, reconfiguring both physical and human geography, being probably the most damaging type of natural disaster that occurs in this country. Al quake itself and destruction produced, various side events, including highlights avalanches and tsunamis are added. The 1939 Chillán earthquake was the deadliest in the history of Chile, with an official figure of 5648 dead. The 1960 Valdivia earthquake was the strongest recorded in the history of mankind, with a magnitude of 9.5 MW.

You contribution was rightfully reverted because it contains disputable claims (e.g. world's most seismically active country) that are unsourced. Wikipedia needs to be a credible source. Dentren | Talk 14:32, 11 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Can't access material

[edit]

I was hoping to copy a line and reference for another article, but can't seem to access bulk of material. Can get at the bottom of the article, but not the top. Any ideas? Student7 (talk) 21:00, 17 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

MISTAKE FEB 27 2010 EARTHQUAKE There is a mistake, feb 27 2010 chilean earthquake was 35 km deep, not fifty something. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.46.184.8 (talk) 16:38, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

minimum magnitude

[edit]

I think there shouldn't be any inclusion of earthquakes with magnitudes lower than 7.5Mw, unless that they had produced deaths or severe damages. Such weak earthquakes don't disrupt normal life, and are forgotten days after they happened. 200.90.245.239 (talk) 06:24, 5 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Missing figure

[edit]

The 2d paragraph of the article mentions a figure "shown in the map to the side" -- but there is no map. Got lost in some previous edit? ManlyMatt (talk) 11:10, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
