Thousands!

There are some eleven thousand articles about directors in WP. Will this list list them all? Yes? How? No? What criteria to choose? - Nabla (talk) 01:13, 4 September 2011 (UTC)

Redlinks

Everyone listed is either redlinked or wikilinked. Surely not everyone will ever have an article. Especially, if their debut was a less than notable effort, that resulted in no subsequent work. I propose we remove all the redlinks on this page. Articles can always be created; and when that occurs, there can be legit blue links. But all these likely, never-to-be-created, redlinks just seem to de-legitimize the page and make it look like a vio of WP:STANDALONE. Thoughts? X4n6 (talk) 21:13, 7 August 2017 (UTC)

Nearly 13 years later

Nearly 13 years after the first issues were raised with this page nothing has been discussed about it. As the editor above says, there are thousands of articles on directors, and a lot of directors on here don't have articles. Time to delete this article I am sure Sirhissofloxley (talk) 22:09, 7 January 2022 (UTC)

Purpose of this list?

What is the purpose of this list? Or, perhaps more specifically, when would a reader visit this list? Because if I want to know the debut of e.g. Tarantino, I'd much more likely check Quentin Tarantino. Is the list's purpose to allow visitors to browse through everything, perhaps?
