This page either needs to be created or deleted
[edit]@Mzajac - This page is an anomaly that needs to be dealt with. Originally, this page was a subsidiary of "International representation of the DPR and LPR", which, as you know, was voided by @Volunteer Marek (see the article's history), now redirecting to "International recognition of the DPR and LPR". The reason for the existence of this subsidiary article is due to the fact that "List of diplomatic missions of the LPR" (which has similar issues) was covered by the same "international representation" article (i.e. the two quasi-states were described within a single article, so these two individualised articles became redirects).
After "international representation" was voided and redirected to "international recognition", these two "diplomatic missions" articles for the DPR and LPR became doubly redirected to "international recognition" as well. I noticed this discrepancy whilst investigating the article "List of states with limited recognition" (the article is alternatively named "Unrecognised states" or "De facto states"). Over at that article, the DPR and LPR have been added to the list, which effectively means that the editors over there have recognised the DPR and the LPR as de facto states, even though the editors of the main articles themselves (i.e. "DPR" and "LPR") have voted to not recognise the two quasi-states as de facto states but instead as puppet states.
The "Unrecognised states" article has clear sections within the main list that specify details about each of the de facto states that is mentioned. There are designated areas for "international recognition", "foreign relations", and "diplomatic missions of/to". The problem here is that the editors of the "Unrecognised states" article did not bother to properly vet (quality-check) the relevant DPR/LPR-related articles before creating entries for the two quasi-states in the main list of the article. So, for the "diplomatic relations" of the DPR and the LPR, they linked both of them to these two newly-created articles, "List of diplomatic missions of the DPR" and "List of diplomatic missions of the LPR", which they then immediately redirected to the "international representation" article, which was then subsequently deleted in its own right.
Yesterday, I took the decision to void the two doubly redirected "diplomatic missions" articles, and I've created small blurbs for the two articles (lists), although I have not added any proper content and I don't intend to. I was unable to leave the two articles as complete blanks because they had become proper articles (lists) at the very moment that I had voided their redirect statuses. Essentially, both articles have been baptised, but this is not because I want to create them but rather because they are subsidiaries of a parent article that has been deleted and itself turned into a redirect.
I am in favour of permanently deleting these two articles. Such a decision will have to be made at the "articles for deletion" forum of Wikipedia. For now, the two articles exist, but they do not contain any proper content yet apart from the blurbs that I've written. I've also linked the two articles to each other and to the "international recognition" article through their "See also" sections. Jargo Nautilus (talk) 08:54, 30 July 2022 (UTC)
Status quo of the international representation and diplomatic missions articles
[edit]The status quo of the "international representation" article is that it has essentially been deleted, although the title still exists, and the shell of the former article is now redirected to "international recognition". I support the status quo of keeping the article in its deleted state, even though I acknowledge the possibility of reviving the article. If the "international representation" article is revived, then the issues surrounding the "diplomatic missions" articles can be resolved easily.
I support @Volunteer Marek's decision to delete the "international representation" article due to several problems surrounding that article, including (1) its problematic title, which was too similar to the "international recognition" article and a clear instance of a POV-fork, (2) its lack of general content, which could have easily been streamlined into the "international recognition" article anyway, and (3) its inclusion of FRINGE content in addition to the legitimate content, which I had deleted shortly before Volunteer Marek's decision to delete the entire article, i.e. what remained of it.
As you know, the "international recognition" article itself is under discussions to be moved to an entirely different title altogether, such as "Political status of...". So, really, at the present moment, none of these articles surrounding this entire mess is properly secure as a legitimate article. All of them are eligible for deletion or being retitled or being merged. Jargo Nautilus (talk) 09:05, 30 July 2022 (UTC)
