Skype has been discontinued by Microsoft soon after acquiring the company. Skype platform used to be a peer to peer network, with no central oversight and anonymous, Microsoft converted it to a centralized platform where the video calls could be monitored and recorded, and there was an outrage against that coming from saudi women who didn't want to be seen by strangers without wearing the prescribed clothing. The current Skype has nothing to do with the original and as soon as the new Microsoft servers variant went online it was announced that the old P2P clients will stop working.
