This page is, at 169Kb, well beyond the point when it is easy to navigate or edit. It needs breaking up into sections at least; and not having a table of contents, but using redirect pages to link to the lower sections, is bizarre. Any ideas? Xyl 54 (talk) 00:39, 24 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. There some other Chilean maritime-related that would need a better structure. Dentren | Talk 16:34, 24 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree. This is a list. This is the structure of the given information, a list. If you want the history of the First Chilean Naval Squadron, go to that article. If you want the case of the "Esmeralda" go to that article and etc. Again, this is a list. Moreover, 169k is far to be too much. Take a look to WW2: 218k. --92.227.160.157 (talk) 10:29, 26 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The list allow to obtain information like: how many and which Chilean ships were built in Scotland?, which are the Chilena ships named "Lautaro"?, how many Chilean ships were commissioned between 1930 and 1935?.
You can't obtain such information if you break the list in sections. About "bizarre", great for you, good literature accepts many interpretations. --92.227.160.157 (talk) 10:34, 26 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Template produces poor PDF output

[edit]

PDF output using Google Chrome's built-in distiller produces poor results with this page. (Use the Ctrl P command in Chrome to preview). Issue may be with the template used or (more likely) the the way content was entered (coded) into the template and saved by the contributor. For example, when printing this article with Google's PDF printer, the font size is scaled down too much. Note that the font size should not dynamically scale up or down to fit a page; font size of the main-body text content should be about 12 points on outputted PDF page(s); it is the images and table cells that should dynamically scale up or down to fit the info box and template in order to maintain the two-column Wikipedia layout. The offending element appears to be the table. Refer to this Wikipedia article for a proper printer-friendly layout using tables -- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_current_ships_of_the_Chilean_Navy Printchecker (talk) 21:51, 23 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
