Not death metal
[edit]Lamb of God, Last Days of Humanity, Meshuggah, Orphaned Land, Sepultura and to some degree Napalm Death, are not death death metal bands. These bands' styles are dominantly something else with traits of death metal in their music, like Last Days of Humanity which is goregrind. Sadist King (talk) 17:09, 13 July 2011 (UTC)Sadist King

Lamb of God; MA page states no death metal, as does their RYM page. Even their Wikipedia page states it's not a death metal band. Inconsistency right here. Meshuggah's own Wikipedia page state that it's genre is not death metal, but that they utilized it one time. Band's MA page and RYM page state no death metal on Meshuggah.
Sepultura used to be old school death metal, but assuming the list is going to be up-ro-date, take notice of genres here; MA page and it's own Wikipedia page, that states it was, past tense. If there is a groove metal list here, it's better suited there. Orphaned Land would better be suited for the (if there is one) folk metal list due to the band's diverse music and use of folk music, once again death metal in past tense, assuming this is going to be an up-to-date list; MA page.
Napalm Death is a little trickier though, since the MA page states both death metal and grindcore (as an equal meassure I guess), maybe deathgrind (but that's just me thinking loud)? Although judging by their body of work, grindcore would be more fitting than death metal but that's my opinion. Lastly, Last Days of Humanity; RYM page state grindcore and noisecore. So does their own Wikipedia page so here is another inconsistency on... here. Sadist King (talk) 22:01, 13 July 2011 (UTC)Sadist King
I'd also like to add Old Man's Child to bands that shouldn't be here, see; Wikipedia page and MA page for genres. All that's mentioned on the Archives is that the band released a very limited demo that was death metal. And that was all.Sadist King (talk) 00:57, 15 July 2011 (UTC)Sadist King

Surprised nobody's picked up on Trivium, as far as I'm aware, they've NEVER played death metal; I'm not overly-familiar with their oeuvre, but what I HAVE heard has been more heavy/thrash than anything. I propose they be removed, and added to the thrash and/or heavy metal list(s) if necessary. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Margolotta (talk • contribs) 21:30, 26 April 2014 (UTC)

Orphaned references in List of death metal bands, L–Z
[edit]I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of List of death metal bands, L–Z's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 10:44, 29 March 2023 (UTC)
