[edit]Lubomyr Husar is not a patriarch. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.22.165.250 (talk) 03:43, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
Strange. Russian Orthodox Old-Rite Church is not a patriarchate, and the Head of the Russian Orthodox Old-Rite Church does not use the ,,patriarch" title —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.76.18.167 (talk) 11:17, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

Ordering of sections?
[edit]The ordering of the sections is quite weird - I suggest alphabetical. If nobody objects, I'll reorder this accordingly soon. Allens (talk) 23:57, 19 October 2011 (UTC)
- The alphabetical order has no meaning. The criteria should be the number of adherents. A ntv (talk) 06:30, 20 October 2011 (UTC)
- The number of adherents is likely to be disagreed upon, whereas the alphabetical order (or similar) is unbiased. Allens (talk) 07:41, 20 October 2011 (UTC)
- At least for Rome it could be arranged by order of precedence (it might already be arranged that way?), but even that could cause disputes. Adam Bishop (talk) 08:44, 20 October 2011 (UTC)
- The number of adherents is uncontroversial, and it had the advantage to follow the relevance of the research from the users, leaving for last the fringe groups. The alphabetical order gives room for lots of conflicts, for example, the Catholic Church is to be listed under the "C" (of Catholic) or under the "R" (of Roman)?, or the Eastern Orthodox Church is to be listed under the "E" (of Eastern) or under the "O" (of Orthodox)? A ntv (talk) 09:49, 20 October 2011 (UTC)
- I understand your desire to benefit users, but, inherently, considering any groups to be "fringe" is biased in the case of religion - this is not science or another field in which the majority viewpoint can be taken to reflect the truth. I actually had in mind ordering by the first characters of the headers. Allens (talk) 15:39, 20 October 2011 (UTC)

Brazilian Catholic Apostolic Church
[edit]Yes, the English language Wikipedia article on the ICAB (Brazilian Catholic Apostolic Church) claimed until five minutes ago that its leader had the title of Patriarch (I just fixed it), but there was no actual sourcing for this. The Portuguese Wikipedia article on the ICAB did not use that title for him, and the ICAB's own website does not use that title (look here). Unless someone can produce actual reputable sourcing showing that the current head of the ICAB holds the title of Patriarch, he (and the ICAB generally) needs to be left off of this page. His title is "President of the Episcopal Council." This shouldn't even be up for debate. LacrimosaDiesIlla (talk) 14:56, 25 January 2019 (UTC)
- Thanked you for clarifying as to be sure you weren't mistaking as I am, But I think reason why ICAB's leadership could be or maybe was having 'Patriarchates' due of the denomination's one of its predecessor has used 'Patriarch' in his title or someone in while ago long before me, thought all three leaders in ICAB are Patriarchates just because they are belong in Independent Catholic denomination with couple them used Patriarch as their leader's title. Use of "Eastern" in brackets
[edit]Could anyone please tell me if "Eastern" should be in brackets for the title of the section "Patriarchs of Independent [Eastern] Orthodox Churches"? Maybe it's necessary to distinguish it from Oriental Orthodox Churches, Western Rite Orthodoxy, and others, but I'd like to be sure.--Thylacine24 (talk) 17:52, 28 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Thylacine24: I removed the brackets, I have no idea why someone added them. Veverve (talk) 09:35, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Veverve: Thanks.--Thylacine24 (talk) 12:05, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
