Turkey should be listed in the Asian section

I have moved Turkey from the European to the Asian section.

Turkey is a Transcontinental country, but it is considered a European Country, Turkey began full membership negotiations with the European Union in 2005, having been an associate member of the European Economic Community since 1963 and having joined the EU Customs Union in 1995. And Around 30 of the Turkish billionaires are located in Istanbul on the western side in East Thrace it is located entirely in Europe.

The Country is also part of all European sport associations, as Football and Basketball, and is currently in the bid for the UEFA Euro 2020 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_Euro_2020

A country can't negotiate itself to a another continent. Turkey's area and population are mostly in Asia, so it should be listed as Asian. Russia's population, however, is mainly in Europe (even though area is mostly in Asia). 82.141.67.203 (talk) 01:54, 15 March 2013 (UTC)

Why can't a country negotiate itself to another continent? Who made up that rule, and where is it written? It opens up a can of worms, but the logic of considering Europe to be a separate "continent" from Asia is extremely questionable anyway, because it makes the definition of continent much more complicated and less intuitive. If it weren't for "Europe" and "Asia", anyone (from any planet) could look at a physical globe and identify all of the continents on Earth. Why is India called a "subcontinent" and not a continent? India is diverse enough and populous enough to meet the same qualifications that supposedly make Europe a continent. What disqualifies India from continent status? GDP per capita? Why should that be a criterion? Mexico is part of North America

Mexico should be moved to the North America section and the Latin America section should be renamed Central and South America. In terms of geography, North, Central, and South are the correct usage, whereas Latin is a cultural division irrelevant for the purposes of this article.

I agree Mexico should be included in North American and would take it a step further and include Central America as well. The intro to the article states that the divisions are by continent, and Latin America (as well as Central America) is NOT a continent. Also, the sectional lists need updating. Outdated and unreliable sources

The list of billionaires by Continents are very outdated and do not follow the Forbes list which is the official list. here are the list for 2012 http://www.forbes.com/billionaires/ there are several different sources who are not reliable, we need to cleanup and update the list from forbes 2012. Header says this article uses 2013 figures, which is only true for the European list. At least 2012 is marked as the year in all the other tables.

Unlock the topic for corrections

There are some mistakes. Both in 2012 and in 2013 Brazil ranked as having a higher number of billionaires than Britain, f.e. The way the data is presented is highly misleading. Grenzer22 (talk) 14:30, 20 May 2013 (UTC)

One can check it here: in 2013, there were 46 Brazilian billionaires (http://www.forbes.com/sites/ricardogeromel/2013/03/06/full-list-latin-american-billionaires-of-2013/). Turkey - Asia or Europe?
