Current table
[edit]Constituency boundaries etc change. The article currently admits that and is apparently showing the ones used at the 2016 elections (perhaps also the 2011?). However, the table is completely screwed up with a phenomenal number of errors in it and, of course, it may be a different table come the next decade.
People need to think before changing things in tables such as this because the changes can have consequences greater than might first appear. And I don't think it is helped in this case that the table is being used to summarise the 2016 election results as well as the constituencies. For example, Jayalalithaa died and the entry for her constituency has been changed to reflect the bye-election but the introductory text says it is the info at the general election. I'm going to fix all of this stuff very shortly and one consequence is that the results will not actually appear here. They will instead be in the main 2016 election article, which is both more logical and in accordance with other articles for other states and elections in India.
I'm not actually sure that this list serves any useful purpose but I'll leave the rump of it for now, after fixing all the errors and splitting out the results. - Sitush (talk) 16:38, 27 May 2018 (UTC)
