There are catalog numbers for Villa-Lobos's works. It would be good to add them. . . if anybody could get ahold of them. - Gus (T, C) 2007-06-28 05:43Z 05:43, 28 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Do you mean the numbers in Appleby's Bio-Bibliography? If so, they are only really of use for cross-reference within that book. As far as I am aware, the nearly 600 numbers in Appleby are not accepted as a standard for Villa-Lobos, in the way that Köchel numbers are for Mozart. Or does the Museo Villa-Lobos have a numerical catalogue? In any case, adding these numbers to such a long list of compositions would be a very big task. Could you expand on the utility of such an enterprise?--Jerome Kohl 05:58, 28 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It seemed a good idea to have all external links together. If I'm missing something, apologies & revert. Rothorpe (talk) 01:46, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Portuguese terms

[edit]

I came to the compositions of Villa Lobos and found it difficult to understand simply because I do not speak Portuguese. Could someone create a glossary of key music terms a somewhat parochial guy like me can more easily understand? You might alternatively point me to another source for this information. Thank you.

I have just had a look at the list, and see very few specifically musical terms in Portuguese. Perhaps you are thinking of the titles of some pieces for which translations are not already provided. If you could offer two or three examples of the kind of thing you have in mind, it would help me to understand better what might be done (though I must offer a disclaimer: I am not fluent in Portuguese myself).—Jerome Kohl (talk) 22:48, 23 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
