Opus numbers

[edit]

"Opus number" has a (relatively!) definite meaning. Halbreich's are not opus numbers, they are catalog[ing] numbers. Some Mozart works, for instance, had opus numbers (several and conflicting, often enough; but his clarinet quintet was often referred to as opus 108 per its first publication, for instance) before Köchel numbers came into general use, and the latter are referred to properly as Köchel catalog numbers.
