Images causing problems
[edit]I'm removing a couple of images from this article: an aerial view of Omaha and a skyline shot of Lincoln. In Chrome, the images cause problems with formatting. When the window is somewhat narrow, they displace the table down below them, producing a large white expanse on the left side of the page. When the window is somewhat wider, they overlap the rightmost column of the table, obscuring the text. Only by widening the browser window considerably do I avoid these problems; and then the window's too wide to comfortably read text in other WP articles. I don't believe that the visual interest added by these images is sufficient to offset the inconvenience to the reader.
It might be that images could be placed lower in the list: say, opposite the name of the city depicted. However, placing them opposite the largest-cities table definitely causes problems, and should be avoided. Ammodramus (talk) 04:21, 16 January 2018 (UTC)
- This has made the page significantly worse by simply removing them. The problem seems to be your computer, however a solution might be to use the gallery format above the list but below the lead as is done in other list of cities? Mattximus (talk) 11:57, 16 January 2018 (UTC)
merger proposal
[edit]This article and List of villages in Nebraska should be merged to List of municipalities in Nebraska. Dylanvt (talk) 21:19, 7 July 2021 (UTC)
- Agree completely. This will match other lists on here. Mattximus (talk) 15:30, 8 July 2021 (UTC)
- I have done the merger, although I'm not sure I did all the documentation correctly. The villages still have to be incorporated into the table of cities. Michael Ehart (talk) 21:58, 29 September 2022 (UTC)
- That's a great start, I added some to the lead but yes it's lots of work to get it all up to the standard of many of the other list of municipalities. Mattximus (talk) 01:26, 30 September 2022 (UTC)
