[edit]The (Thailand, Laos and Vietnam) in the article title shouldn't be necessary. The scope of the article can adequately be defined in the lead. Also, what about Cambodia? --Paul_012 (talk) 07:15, 1 December 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, the (Thailand, Laos and Vietnam) in the title should be dropped. Indochina includes Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, (peninsular) Malaysia, and Singapore. Notafly, does this list only cover species from Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam, or of Indochina completely? Judging by the content, I'm guessing it is the later. If it is the former, then I suppose the article would have to be expanded to cover all Indochinese species, if not deleted. JKDw (talk) 06:32, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
Hi both I think I will expand this article with a better lead and to include Cambodia, Myanmar etc ie Indochina sensu lato. as time permits. The faunal importance lies in the links to India and the lands to the Wallace line, a subject which I will also cover in the intro in due course. I also plan to annotate the list for endemic species. Best regards Notafly
- Nice work, by the way! Also, the standard style/structure for these lists seems to be like this:
- subfamily: example subfamily
- tribe: example tribe
- genus: example genus
- example species
- example subspecies 1
- example subspecies 2
- genus: example genus
- tribe: example tribe
- I (unless someone beats me to it) will go through the list at some point to match this style, if there are no objections. JKDw (talk) 21:03, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
Many thanks. That is very helpful. Notafly (talk) 13:42, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
