1. The list was created just for the sake of having such a list
2. The list is of interest to a very limited number of people
3. The list is a violation of Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information
4. The content is unverifiable or the underlying concept is non-notable
5. The list cannot be expanded beyond a handful of terms
6. The list is unlimited and/or unmaintainable
7. The list has no content beyond links to other articles, so would be better implemented as a (self-maintaining) category
8. The list is unencyclopaedic, i.e. it would not be expected to be included in an encyclopaedia.
9. Determining membership of the list requires adoption of a non-neutral point of view.
The list was created to move a very uncontrolled list off of List_of_blood_donation_agencies, and that page should probably follow the same fate if this list is inappropriate.
The contest here is between having independent articles for all of these organizations or to just have a list. A few of them (UBS/ARC) are probably notable, the rest very likely are not. The content can be easily verified and is of a reasonable size.
Whether the underlying concept is notable is debatable. Mostly the reason for having an independent list is that US management of blood collection is very decentralized (compare the National Blood Service).
The links themselves are largely irrelevant and can be removed, they're mostly included because the people who run these places aren't very original with the names and the links are sometimes needed to tell them apart.
I mostly bothered to put together a cohesive list out of my own curiosity, and if it's not otherwise of interest it can be sacked.Somedumbyankee (talk) 23:02, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
