Haru Haru , Last Farewall , Lies

[edit]

Those are best-selling singles in korea , as Billboard said about Haru Haru : the song was a breakout hit in 2008 and one of the best-selling Korean songs ever at the time.Source

Haru Haru & Lies sales

[edit]

Haru Haru sold 5.4m and Lies 4.9m, both are the best-selling songs by idol group and have been reported many times from media outlets, and here are the sources about the entire sales from multipliable sites. If there is no objection about the sources I'll add them to the list. GD.BB (talk) 09:49, 18 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Seoulbeats is not a reliable website so their reported numbers pre-2010 are irrelevant, just stick to the 2010+ sales only. Snowflake91 (talk) 17:09, 18 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
"Lies" is the second most downloaded song in South Korea since from 2006 till 2016, only behind Busker Busker's "Cherry Blossom Ending" which sold at the time 6.2 millions, so the song definitely sold 5-6 millions, the same goes to "Haru Haru", so the numbers from Seoulbeats are far from unreliable, here are sources listing them as one of the best-selling singles in all-time in South Korea 1 and 2.  Partly done: I've re-added all the Big Bang songs and many more 2007-2009 singles in a new special section of the list, based on precedent at the List of best-selling books. I made sure to specify which sources refer to which sales.
I consider making those distinctions absolutely crucial, since Harout72, an veteran music sales editor who was not well-informed about the Gaon Chart once mistakenly assumed that the dozens of sources for those Big Bang songs' sales meant most of their sales were from 2011 onwards. If such an experienced and knowledgable editor can make that mistake, one can only imagine how casual visitors to Big Bang's singles' discography may have been misled.--Mαuri ’96 (talk · cont) 07:25, 21 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Mαuri ’96, first I don't know why you would mention my name here in this thread which I have no intention of getting involved in. Second, you might want to go back to the thread you've linked here and read it up once again. I never once discussed anything specifically about Gaon charts having begun in 2011. Please don't mistakenly assume anything about what I've said or anything about my knowledge. As for our discussion back at the List of best-selling music artists, I stand firm by what I told you. Good day.--Harout72 (talk) 10:27, 21 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Anne-Marie for Best Domestic song?

[edit]

Hello @Mauri96, may i ask what was the reason for adding Anne-Marie's song 2002 as best selling Domestic song? When Anne-Marie is not, in fact, a Korean artist (and song is not in korean). As i understand, this page was divided into 2 parts, because Gaon (pre-2019) used to upkeep seperate chart listing for Korean and Intl artists. So even if now they don't keep seperate charts, it would be logical to list Korean artist as the best selling for the Domestic Song (which i guess would be Chungha's Gotta Go)? My mistake! I guess I must've automatically listed the song that topped the overall chart without remembering the section on this article says "Domestic". It is now fixed. --Mαuri ’96 (talk · cont) 07:15, 16 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
