[edit]Thanks for the informative article. But I have two objections. The capital of the Ottoman Empire was İstanbul. During the Turkish Republic the capital moved to Ankara. Thus the lede should be changed accordingly. Also in the column "prime minister of Turkey" the names of the sultans are listed. But the equivalent of the prime minister was "grand vizier" and the grand viziers should replace the sultans. I'll call the editor. Nedim Ardoğa (talk) 08:00, 14 March 2017 (UTC)

[edit]- Ankara became capital, because of the Occupation of Constantinople after the World War I by the Entente Powers (Allies of World War I).
- On 14 November 1914 Sultan Mehmed V had declared jihad against the Entente Powers (Allies of World War I), following the Ottoman government's decision to join the First World War on the side of the Central Powers.
- In respect of foreign politics the List of sultans of the Ottoman Empire gives more orientation than a List of Ottoman Grand Viziers.

- OK of course you can list the names of the sultans. No objection. But in this case the column heading should be "sultan" instead of "prime minister". Nedim Ardoğa (talk) 06:32, 15 March 2017 (UTC)
