List of awards and nominations received by Almost FamousList of accolades received by Almost Famous — Discussion about these lists for films took place here, and there is interest in moving away from "List of awards and nominations received by" as a naming convention. "List of accolades received by" is the most viable runner-up. The two current examples are List of accolades received by American Beauty and List of accolades received by The Hurt Locker. Please review the discussion and comment on the requested move of these lists. Thanks, Erik (talk) 17:34, 21 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support Title better represents content as not only awards and nominations are presented. There are also honors and prizes, etc. BOVINEBOY2008 :) 18:01, 21 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose as that would also require all nominations to be removed from the articles (nominations are NOT accolades). The current name styles sounds better and is more accurate. To the above user, prizes and honors can be classified as awards. TJ Spyke 23:03, 21 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support The WT:FILM discussion seems to me that accolades is the best option, as its definition is more comprehensive than the other titles suggested. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talkcontrib) 00:10, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - not sure how a nomination is not an accolade. Per Wiktionery accolade can be "1. An expression of approval; praise. 2. A special acknowledgment; an award." So an award is one form of accolade and a nomination is approval/praise/acknowledgement. "Accolade" is more inclusive - as User:Bovineboy2008 notes, there are other types of honors that could be included. Rossrs (talk) 06:30, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. The word "accolades" is encompassing enough to include any of the current content at these articles, and has the benefit of not being as cumbersome as "awards and nominations". Just to respond to the "oppose" above, if a film has received an award nomination, this is still an accolade—a great compliment or honour. The word also allows inclusion of other content—should primary editors want it—such as AFI lists and "Greatest Movie Ever" magazine polls, which I think would be suitable in these lists, and which "awards and nominations" doesn't quite cover. • Supoort - Per Rossrs's logic above. DrNegative (talk) 22:45, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

List of accolades received by Almost FamousList of awards and accolades for Almost Famous Relisted Jafeluv (talk) 13:09, 18 November 2010 (UTC) These lists are primarily about awards and award nominations, so the name should include mention of awards in the title. Cjc13 (talk) 00:52, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Accolades seems too vague a term on its own and gives little indication of the nature of the articles. The lists all include lists of awards and tend not to use the word accolade apart from the title. By including awards in the title it gives a better description of the content of the articles. From the earlier discussion, awards is not considered sufficient on its own. Cjc13 (talk) 01:16, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, and after a fairly lengthy if belated discussion earlier on the project talk page, I believe there is reason to consider alternate titles for the section as "accolades" is entirely a vague and arbitrary term, that is also considered archaic in terms of popular use. I would suggest: "Awards and recognition" as more meaningful as it includes nominations and other extraordinary mentions, such as listing on "favourites" lists. Procedural oppose. I almost closed this but I'll give you a chance. The last move came after some discussion here. I think another move would require revisting those opinions at least. There is a whole category of these so I suggest you get consensus from somewhere like that to either move all or none. Rambo's Revenge (talk) 01:51, 19 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
