Talk:List of YouTubers/FAQ
Appearance
Below are answers to frequently asked questions about the corresponding page List of YouTubers. They address concerns, questions, and misconceptions which have repeatedly arisen on the talk page. Please update this material when needed. |
Q1: May I add my own YouTube channel to this list? (No.)
- A1: No. This list is meant to consist only of YouTubers who are sufficiently notable to have their own Wikipedia article. It is highly unlikely that your channel is sufficiently notable for this to be the case. Please do not add yourself or your channel to this list.
- If you are a YouTuber whose channel has its own Wikipedia article, and your channel has not yet been added to this list, and you wish to add your channel to this list, please thoroughly read and comprehend Wikipedia's conflict of interest guidelines before doing so.
Q2: One of my favourite YouTubers is missing from this list; may I add them?
- A2: Please only add a YouTuber that has yet to be listed here if (a) they already have their own article, and (b) they are primarily notable for their work on YouTube, rather than primarily being known for their work elsewhere.
Q3: If I write a Wikipedia article about a YouTuber, may I then add them to this list?
- A3: If you believe in good faith that the YouTuber in question is sufficiently notable to have their own Wikipedia article, you may write an article on them, whereafter it will be reviewed and considered for publication. However, please read Help:Your first article and Wikipedia:List of bad article ideas before attempting this. Additionally, if you are a fan of the YouTuber in question, please read Wikipedia:Fancruft before doing this.
- If, after all of this, your article is published, then you may add the YouTuber in question to this list.
