"Sabeeny", not "Sibini"

The character Sibini is actually called "Sabeeny". I chnged it on List of Shen Gong Wu revealed in Season 2 and Wikipedia changed it back and sent me it through my talk page. I even have seen it in closed caption. It is "Sabeeny"!

Actually, the character's name is Sibini. That was what was used in print media. Ryūlóng 21:52, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
Closed captioning is almost never right. In the TCG, it is spelled as "Sibini", which is more official than closed captioning. Ryūlóng 22:08, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
The TCG is officially licenced by the producers of the show, closed captioning is not. Therefore, closed captioning is wrong when it differs from the TCG. Jay32183 23:06, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

The TCG is wrong. The TCG is made by Wizards of the Cost, not WB or the actual show!

The Closed Captioning is what is wrong, and it often is. The TCG is printed by Wizards of the Coast, and licensed by the production of the show. The creator, Christy Hui, would have released something about a misprint, but she didn't. If you want, I can get you a scan of the card, or you can go to the Shen Gong Wu talk pages and find the link to the card list, where "Sibini" is listed. Ryūlóng 03:22, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

Well, even on the show they pronounce it "Sabeeny".

The two sound remarkably similar. You can't trust your ears for the spelling of a fictional character's name. Sibini is the only way it appears in print of officially licenced media. Unless you can get a varifiable statement from the producers of the show that WOTC and Hasbro screwed up their research, we have to take the TCG as correct. Jay32183 20:46, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
If anything, it is pronounced as sə.ˈbiː.niː which is said as "Suh-bee-knee". Ryūlóng 20:47, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

When Known Shen Gong Wu was named Shen Gong Wu, it was "Sabeeny" under Known Shen Gong Wu under Monarch wings/Mosiac Scale. I even have it when I printed out the Shen Gong Wu list.

You may have printed out an old list, and then it was fixed. Wikipedia isn't a reliable source, sadly. Ryūlóng 20:52, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
That and it can be changed any second. You printed out the list when it was incorrect (if you've printed it out from Wikipedia). Ryūlóng 20:53, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

Fine. You win. It is "Sibini", then.

It is not that "I win" or "we win and you don't," it is just that there are official print sources (not online) that specifically state the character's name as Sibini. There was never an errata sent out by Wizards of the Coast that stated that "'Sibini' should be 'Sabeeny'" or any information released by the Xiaolin Showdown team that states the same. Wikipedia has to go with official sources, not what someone thinks they heard. Ryūlóng 21:07, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

I didn't THINK I heard it, I actually heard it. I have wanted to tell Wikipedia for months that it was Sabeeny. It was always Sabeeny until people changed it. There is nothing I can do about it now, so let's stop already.

Still, what you heard is irrelevant. We have official printed sources showing Sibini. Wikipedia requires information that can be confirmed. The trading card game can be confirmed, your memory cannot. Jay32183 21:59, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

>:( Can we stop already?! It is "Sabeeny"! Wikipedia was my favorite website. I'm changing my home page, and I won't come back unless I need some info.

Except it is not "Sabeeny". Look up to my posting that has a link to the eBay scan. It clearly says "Sibini". Ryūlóng 23:35, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

I looked already. I also told you that I won't come back. Don't bother continuing this discussion unless someone else agrees with me and thinks that it is "Sabeeny".

Why do you insist upon replying, again, though? Ryūlóng 23:44, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

>:( >:( >:( For the 4th time, please stop. I told you, my home page isn't Wikipedia anymore, you are not one of my favorite sites, you are top on my worst sites, I'm leaving now, I won't answer anymore, see you.

Again, if you do not want to use Wikipedia, stop returning and editting, even if they are talk pages. Unfortunately, it appears that you are the only one who feels that the name is "Sabeeny" that is online right now. I remember putting on Closed Captioning to check for myself, and it said "Sabeeny", however, print media is much more official than closed captioning, or what anyone heard. I am sorry that you feel this way, but you just continue to say "you are bad now, I hate Wikipedia". If you truly feel this way, do not return, as you have been stating you would do. Ryūlóng 00:27, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

It is "Sabeeny", and not "Sibini"!

Please stop. It is not "Sabeeny". It was shown in the TCG that it is spelled as "Sibini". That is more official than any sort of information that you hear or see in Closed Captioning, which has been wrong on many occassions. Ryūlóng 23:30, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

Look at how it is spelled. On the show, they pronounce it "say-bee-nee", Sabeeny. If it was spelled "Sibini", it would be pronounced "see-bee-nee", which it clearly is not. 24.121.73.22 16:40, 14 August 2006 (Pacific Time)

On the show, it is pronounced as "Suh-bee-nee", not "Say-bee-nee". And the first "i" in "Sibini" is treated as a schwa. Ryūlóng 23:42, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

I have no clue what a schwa is, but that isn't the point. It is Sabeeny!24.121.73.22 16:46, 14 August 2006 (Pacific Time Zone)

Actually, that is the whole point. If you go to the page I linked about the schwa, you would know what I am talking about. Please stop insisting false information. Ryūlóng 23:47, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

I have seen mistakes on Closed Captioning, but I need some proof that it is really "Sibini".24.121.73.22 12:21, 15 August 2006 (Pacific Time)

Look at the card from the Trading Card Game. Ryūlóng 19:27, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
[1] Here's the link again, in case you missed it. Jay32183 19:30, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
And that is all of the proof you need. Ryūlóng 19:42, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

Not enough proof. 24.121.73.22 13:20, August 15 2006 (Pacific Time Zone)

Well, then I'm afraid you have to give us proof that states otherwise. And please stop changing the times on your posts, leave them as UTC. Ryūlóng 20:22, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

I don't even know what it means. I read the article, and it didn't make sense. But it is Sabeeny! 24.121.73.22 12:28, August 16 2006 (Pacific Time)

Please provide documentation or drop the issue. Jay32183 19:31, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
I tried to drop it 3 days ago! 24.121.73.22 17:03 16 August 2006 (Pacific Time Zone)
You did try to stop discussing it, but you did not try to stop insisting upon "Sabeeny". We have shown an official text showing "Sibini". Either you provide a statement from Wizards of the Coast admitting to a spelling error, or a statement from Christy Hui or another producer of the show stating the the card did not use the official spelling, or stop claiming "It's Sabeeny". By the way, Wikipedia uses UTC for a reason, so stop posting in Pacific Time. Jay32183 00:13, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

It is "Sabeeny". 17:05, 24 August 2006 (Pacific)

Stop posting in Pacific time. Stop insisting on this false information. Stop complaining. It has been a week since Jay's last message. If you continue to make these nonsense statements, you will be blocked for disruption. Ryūlóng 00:09, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

Fine. Show me some actual printouts, and I will end the discussion saying it is "Sibini". About the time zone things, UTC isn't actually a real time zone, so I might continue posting in Pacific. 25 August 2006, 02.37 (UTC)24.121.73.22

Actually, UTC is a real time zone, and it's what the Wikipedia servers use for this. And that TCG card is an actual print out. If you want to, go out and buy the pack of the cards. Because if you continue to complain about this, despite all of the reputable sources we have given you, you will be blocked. If anything you must give us a source that states that it is spelled as "Sabeeny", we have already given you ours. Ryūlóng 02:29, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

Forget this discussion, I'm not replying. For the final time: either send me a printout or the discussion ends now. One more question: UTC time is WHAT time zone?! WHERE?!) 24.121.73.22 2:32, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

Well, you continue to reply despite an earlier "I'M LEAVING WIKIPEDIA" manifesto. You have the trading card linked to. And UTC is the timezone in England, it was once known as Greenwich Mean Time. Unfortunately, you do not seem to take any sort of proof we have for an answer. We have constantly told you that what you heard you are transcribing into written English is wrong, and closed captioning is not reliable. Now, stop changing times to Pacific Standard Time, and please provide a source of your own about it being spelled as "Sabeeny" and maybe we'll reconsider. Ryūlóng 02:43, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

1. I'm not replying again. 2. I'm not going to UTC time, as it doesn't make sense (example: UTC says midnight, Pacific says 4:00PM (16:00)) 3. It is "Sabeeny". 02:53, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

1. Go ahead. 2. It does make sense; stop being stubborn. 3. No it isn't, stop being stubborn. Ryūlóng 02:56, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
