Nationalities can be fluid

Many British Commonwealth citizens still considered themselves English citizens during World War I. They often emigrated between Britain and Commonwealth countries, pretty much at will.

A classic example is Arthur Coningham. Born in Australia and reared in New Zealand, he ended up a senior officer in Britain. Excellent argument can be made that he qualified as a citizen of any and all of these nations.

Which is a gentle way of pointing out why someone like "Maori" Coningham could justifiably be listed on more than one national list.
