Major Error

Ric Flair was NOT the first champion. The FIRST person to be recognized as Champion was Rick Rude. it is absurd to claim that Flair was the first champion. The WCW International World Heavyweight Championship is NOT the same thing as the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. WCW Fan 2000 (talk) 07:21, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well, Flair was champion when WCW left the NWA. But Flair continued to defend the title at least once, at Fall Brawl, when he lost to Rick Rude. Even though the WCWI had not yet been conceived, it was the same title that Flair defended and lost. It was no longer the NWA title! Str1977 ^(talk) 22:43, 22 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
