I just discovered that this whole table is included in the Democratic Party (United States) article. I am making this a redirect to that section. Skiasaurus 18:03, 21 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why does this page use the person's full formal name, while the equivalant republican party page uses the person's more common name?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cander0000 (talkcontribs) 02:44, 31 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wouldn't an opponent(s) column be useful in this table? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.244.215.114 (talk) 18:02, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why the italics?

[edit]

Why have italics been added to office departure years, that occur after the election? They're not required. GoodDay (talk) 20:43, 28 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

1836 election

[edit]

A contingent election was required for Richard M. Johnson, in the US Senate. GoodDay (talk) 15:59, 8 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

College Names?

[edit]

The section for Polk lists his college as UNC Chapel Hill, which wouldn't be that school's official name until 1963, but for Lyndon Johnson and Kamala Harris, both entries use the name as it was at their date of attendance, Southwest Texas State Teachers' (now Texas State) and UC Hastings (now UC College of the Law). Should Polk's be edited in line with the others? JMT97CLT (talk) 17:25, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
