Cleanup and citations needed
[edit]The content of this page as it stands is pretty much junk for steam locomotives. The column labeled "axles" shoudl be labeled "Whyte Designation", which counts wheels rather than axles. The "type or class" column would be better termed "common name", and in many cases the types had multiple names on different railroads (e.g., a Mastodon was often called a Twelve-Wheeler) or the names given here are basically made up (if you can find a definitive citation for a 2-6-6-4 being called a "Norfolk and Western" by anyone authoritative, I will eat my hat) or are just plain wrong (many railroads had "Challenger" locomotives; they are not "U.P. Challenger".) 2603:6080:CE45:1C00:2088:82C0:8621:46F9 (talk) 18:56, 28 February 2023 (UTC)
