OPS
[edit]Is there a List of OPS satellites? (presumably under some other name, since this is a redlink) 70.29.208.247 (talk) 01:56, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
Delinking USA names in favor of redirects
[edit]Should the designations numbers (which are almost all red links) be redirected to their more commonly used alternate names and the links removed? My guess is that the USA-xxx designation names are notable enough for a redirect, but I don't see any reason for separate articles. TStein (talk) 19:43, 12 November 2011 (UTC)
- Under current practices, those articles would be considered notable, but it is unlikely that they will be created in the near future. My suggestion would be to create redirects, but leave the links in place, and pointing to the redirect pages; the redirects can always be replaced with articles in due course without needing to edit the list in the meantime. --GW… 09:13, 13 November 2011 (UTC)

List of USA satellites → List of USA-designation satellites – I feel that the current title is somewhat confusing as it could be interpreted at first glance to provide a comprehensive list of satellites launched by the United States, though it is most certainly not that. - Support WP:CRITERIA this is not about satellites of the USA -- 70.51.200.101 (talk) 05:20, 4 March 2015 (UTC)
- Comment no redirect should be left behind -- 70.51.200.101 (talk) 05:21, 4 March 2015 (UTC)
- Comment, I am not sure what or which confusion the new title clarifies. The table indicates the "USA..." references to be numbers. The satellites have other designations which, from links, seem to be primary references to the satellites in common reference. I would imagine that the main funders for each project would have a say in its name. The main name may not be designated by the USAF. I'm confused. GregKaye 07:05, 4 March 2015 (UTC)

NSSF satellites
[edit]Is there no similar list with NSSF dedicated satellites? 194.102.58.14 (talk) 13:16, 18 January 2023 (UTC)
USA-41 as COBRA BRASS?
[edit]According to an article hosted by FAS, launch of a COBRA BRASS satellite was "scheduled for this year" in 1998. USA-41 is listed by this page as COBRA BRASS and decaying in 1989. A Colorado State list gives USA-40 and USA-41 as military communications satellites. Is anyone aware of the sourcing for the claim that USA-41 was a COBRA BRASS satellite?
